Goods from China reach Almaty in 3–7 days by air, 10–18 days by truck and 18–30 days by rail. Astana and Shymkent take the same time. For other cities in Kazakhstan, the quote shows the time and cost.
How cargo crosses the border
Trucks cross at Khorgos (Nurzholy) or Bakhty; trains cross at Dostyk and Altynkol. The rail gauge changes at the border, so cargo is reloaded or wagons are moved onto new bogies. Before Chinese holidays and in peak season there are queues at the crossings, so we add a buffer to transit times in those weeks.
Cargo density and rates
Density matters most: weight divided by volume. Dense cargo such as spare parts, tiles or metal is priced per kg at the lower rate. Light, bulky cargo such as clothing, toys or furniture is priced per cubic metre when density is below 200 kg/m³.

Documents and delivery within Kazakhstan
The supplier provides an invoice and packing list; the carrier issues a CMR for road, an SMGS for rail or an AWB for air. On arrival, the cargo goes to your warehouse, or on to another city if needed.

Yes, as consolidated cargo: your boxes share a truck with other clients' goods, and you pay only for your own weight or volume.
Why is cargo from China sometimes delayed?
Usually because of queues at Khorgos and Dostyk before holidays and in peak season, and less often because of document checks. If there is a delay, we tell you straight away.
